Yerushalmi Solom Pirate Oak Single Cask Whiskey is as unique as the Holy land on which it was crafted.
Solom means single in Latin and is a wink to the fact that this whiskey is aged in a single barrel. In the case of the Solom Pirate Oak, it is called a former rum barrel home!
These Rum Casks started off as new Charred STR American Oak barrels and were used to age Yerushalmi’s in-house Rum. The Rum was then bottled and the empty barrels were filled with single malt spirits
This special single malt is a 35PPM (parts per million) peated single malt whiskey. The barley used is from Castle Malting in Belgium. The barley is dried with Scottish Mainland Speyside peat which gives it a signature smoky peat flavor with a warm creamy finish.
The whiskey is bottled at 46.3%, non-chill filtered. The gorgeous natural color, a rich brown with ruby reflections comes from the oak cask.
This is a wonderful single malt whiskey for a special occasion.

Yerushalmi Solom Pirate Oak Single Cask Whiskey
Award-winning Yerushalmi Distillery was started by three partners, David Zibell, Nitai Morgenstern, and Amir Lev, who set about to create a craft distillery as special as Jerusalem. The name, Yerushalmi, refers to a person, or something typical of the Holy City.
The distillery located on Moshav Zanoach is small but mighty, distilling with one still. This is what makes this new craft distillery so special as every creation is overseen by the partners, from start to finish. Every aspect of this distillery is touched by hand and nurtured which means that the final result is exceptional.
The distillery makes only peated whiskeys in addition to 3 types of rum, 2 gins, and bocha. They repurpose their rum barrels for aging their single malts which accelerate the aging process and render a sophisticated dram that will remind you of Jerusalem of gold as you sip.
