Description

Naomi’s spoon rest is a beautiful and practical way to bring a piece of the Holy Land into your kitchen!

Naomi handmakes each spoon rest in her small clay studio. The process begins on her potter’s wheel and is followed by two firing cycles and hand glazing the spoon rest in the beautiful green-blue color reminiscent of the water of the Nile where His mother concealed Moses.

Each spoon rest is embossed with a central motif of bullrushes, another echo of how Moses’ story begins!

As each spoon rest is made entirely by hand, no two are exactly alike.

Naomi Goldman lives and creates her beautiful one-of-a-kind ceramics in the Jewish settlement of Gvaot. Gvaot is nestled in the Judean hills of Gush Etzion. Gvaot is a unique community that is home to special needs Israelis. The community cares for its vulnerable members and helps them find meaningful employment where possible.

Naomi is the mother of eleven children, and in addition to her ceramics studio, she runs a small daycare for local children, including her own! Her older children love spending time with her in the studio, and her eldest daughter worked as her assistant for her project with Lev Haolam!

When Naomi enters her studio in the early hours of the morning, she says a prayer and asks for God’s help to make vessels that will be imbued with a blessing and bring joy to the home that it enters.

She hopes that each unique object she makes will bring joy and blessing to the owners’ homes.
