When Turkish Jews returned to Israel, they brought their culinary traditions with them. Sachlav is a hugely popular, delicious milk-based custard-style hot drink that is Turkish in origin and one of the beautiful culinary intersections created by the Jewish people returning to their ancestral home!
Traditional sachlav is made from the bulbs of the sachlav orchid. It is mixed with milk, orange blossom water, cinnamon, and vanilla. It is absolutely delicious! It is ideal for warming up on a cold day.
Bar Spice has made preparing a traditional hot sachlav drink easy with their Israeli Sachlav Hot Drink Mix.
