Opal Ceramic Bowl from Israel
Opal Galili lives and works in the Upper Galilee, one of the northern regions of Israel. She lives on a kibbutz (a collective farm) called Hulata and runs her studio in a nearby tourist center.
She started working with clay as a child and continued her art education at Tel Hai College, a well-respected art institute in Israel. Opal loves creating ceramic art for purely aesthetic enjoyment and pieces that are functional art that can be used daily.
Opal feels that creating objects with clay connects her to the source of life. Making ceramics is the source of her life, and when she enters her studio to work, it is a way to express herself creatively.
