Masada, which means fortress in Hebrew, is the place where the Jewish Zealots made their last stand in their revolt against the Roman army between 66-73 CE.

The amazing mountain complex is a haunting look into Jewish life under siege. Today Masada has been recognized as a UNESCO world heritage site and it is the location that many IDF units hike to for solemn swearing-in ceremonies.
