Description

Studies in Spirituality is a must-have book for any family interested in following the annual reading of the Torah. It presents an opportunity to explore the themes and deeper meaning of each parsha of the Torah.

This lovely book allows everyone to explore the weekly parsha alone or in conversation with their family.

Of the book, Rabbi Sacks said, “I hope the very personal nature of these essays helps you find your own way to the Divine Presence, which is always there: the music beneath the noise, the call beneath the clamor, the voice of God within the human soul.”

About the author

Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks

Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks was the preeminent scholar of our age. He authored dozens of books, and his sage wisdom was sought by monarchs, presidents, and prime ministers.

As a biblical scholar, Rabbi Sacks published a new English translation and commentary for the Koren Sacks Siddur, the first new Orthodox siddur in a generation, and influential commentaries for the Rosh HaShanah, Yom Kippur, Pesach, Shavuot, and Sukkot Machzorim. His Covenant & Conversation commentaries on the weekly Torah portion are read in Jewish communities worldwide.

A renowned public speaker, Rabbi Sacks was often invited to deliver lectures and talks at prestigious academic institutions and venues worldwide. His 2017 TED Conference talk, viewed almost two million times, was listed by TED’s founder and curator Chris Anderson as one of the top ten talks of that year.

Rabbi Sacks was knighted by Her Majesty The Queen in 2005 and made a Life Peer, taking his seat in the House of Lords in October 2009. Born in 1948 in London, he married Elaine in 1970. Together they raised three children.

Rabbi Sacks passed away on 7th November 2020, aged 72. He leaves behind a legacy as one of the greatest Jewish thinkers of the 21st century, one who bridged the religious and secular world through his remarkable and ground-breaking canon of work.
